I started my Genealogy research when I was in Johannesburg, by accident I came into contact with South African born Robert Cairnduff from Durban, his father was my grandfathers cousin, through this chance meeting I collected another part of my family history, to add to the information collected by my uncle Allan. Another reason for gathering this information was the fact that our name was going to be lost in this generation, I have two daughters as does my brother Brian, my uncle Allan has two girls and even Robert in south Africa he has three more girls so I thought that it would be important for the future to record this information before it was lost. I had no idea that this project would expand as it has, but I am content now that I made the effort to pass on our family history and join with other families like Heather McNaughton (Cairnduff) from Australia and Don Carnduff from Canada who have been kind enough to allow me to add their information to this site.
Below is a small video to look at, it may take a few seconds to load please be patient, the main tree files are very large and may also take a few seconds to download, when this is complete they minimise and by clicking on them you can navigate to different parts of the files if you experience any problems please contact me at cairnduf@hotmail.com some of the hyperlinks have information popups which will apear if the cursor is on them for a second, I have tried to make navigation through this site as easy as possible.
I hope the gathered infromation will be interesting and useful, many of the files will be updated from time to time so please check for any new udates. and if you have any information, photos or anything of interest to include in the site please send them to me.
